Scott Wiles has been the Vice President of the Wiles Wellness Foundation since it was founded in 2009. He played his high school tennis in Massillon, OH where he was the Division I State Singles Champion. He attended The Ohio State University where he played for four years and was captain of the team his senior year. He has been a member of the North Canton Racquet Club (NCRC) staff since 1998 and is currently the co-owner and Director of Tennis at NCRC. Scott is married to Melinda and has two children, Dylan and Olivia.

Matt Poulos
Matt Poulos played his high school tennis at Mason High School in Mason, Ohio. He continued to play tennis in college at the University of Cincinnati where he is the all time leader in combined wins, singles and doubles. He was inducted into the Mason High School Hall of Fame in 2011. Matt currently works at Ameriprise Financial as a financial advisor. He is married to Karen and has two children, Jack and Samantha. |
Steve Kuri played his high school tennis at Western Reserve Academy. He then went on to play college tennis at the College of Wooster. Steve was a two time All-American at the College of Wooster. He is currently a teaching professional at Paramount Westlake. Steve is married to his wife Michelle.

Chris Porter played his high school tennis at Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio. He was a top 10 nationally ranked junior player. During his college career at The Ohio State University, he was the No. 1 singles player and achieved a top 50 singles national ranking. He was named to the first team, All-Big Ten, three times. Chris has been a part of the North Canton Racquet Club teaching staff since 2002. He is engaged to Dustee and has one son, Tristan.

Tom Pukys played his high school tennis at Perry High School. He was a state qualifier and was inducted into the Perry Athletics Hall of Fame. Tom went on to play college tennis at Malone University. At Malone he was a three time national qualifier, selected once as a 1st team All-American and team captain. He is also in the Malone University Athletics Hall of Fame. Tom is currently President of Alliance Area Development. He resides in Louisville, Ohio with his wife Jane and their six kids Samantha, Jacob, Kayla, Ryan, Owen and Diana.

R.J. Vassas played his high school tennis at Jackson High School. He played college tennis at Malone College. During his college career, R.J. was a two time national qualifier and played first singles and first doubles. He has been a part of the NCRC teaching staff since 1991. In 2012, R.J. won the USPTA Men’s Open Singles Player of the Year Award. R.J. is married to Melissa and has three children, Caitlyn, Camille, and Lucas. |
Bill Willing played his high school tennis at Massillon Washington High School. Bill played college tennis for the University of Akron. He was ranked #3 in Northeastern Ohio in 1993 in the Men’s open singles. In 2007 Bill was the Men’s 35 and over Midwest Championships runner-up. He has been a part of the North Canton Racquet Club teaching staff since 1990. He is also the Director of Tennis at Congress Lake Country Club. Bill is married to Andrea and has two children, Joseph and Sarah.

Ernie Fernandez was born and grew up playing tennis in Puerto Rico. He represented Puerto Rico in the Pan American Games winning a bronze medal in 1979. He then went to college at The Ohio State University where he was an NCAA singles semi-finalist and an All-American in 1980. Following college, he competed on the ATP Tour where he was ranked #36 in the world in doubles. He has career victories over Ken Flach, Robert Seguso, and Vitas Gerulaitis. Ernie was inducted into The Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame and The Puerto Rican Tennis Hall of Fame. He is currently a teaching pro at North Canton Racquet Club and is also the Director of Tennis at Glenmoor Country Club. He is married to Gretchan and has a daughter, Maria.

Ryan Shaffer played his high school tennis at St. Thomas Aquinas in Louisville, Ohio. He played college tennis at West Virginia University, where he played #1 doubles and #2 singles for three years. Ryan was also voted team captain for two years at West Virginia. He currently works for The Timken Company in the business communications department. Ryan is married to Sarah and has twin boys, Jack and Sam.

Dave Drummond played his high school tennis at Canton South High School. Dave graduated with a B.A. in Math and played tennis for 3 years at Malone University. He was a three-time First Team All-District selection in both singles and doubles as well as a three-time National Qualifier. Dave finished his college career with a National ranking of 41 in 1993 and currently holds the single season record, 28-1, at Malone University. He was inducted into the Malone University Athletic Hall of Fame in Feb, 2014. Dave has been a teaching pro at the Hall of Fame Fitness Center since 1994 and owns Drummond Financial Solutions, where he works as a financial advisor. He is married to Sandy and has a daughter named Olivia and a son named Dawson.
